Golden penny carrots

2 pounds carrots, sliced and slightly cooked
1 onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1/4 cup oil
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1-1/2 cup tomato paste or thickened tomato juice
Saute onion and green pepper in oil. Mix everything together. Serve while hot.
