Tomato soup cake

 

  • 1½ cups sugars
  • 3 tablespoons shortening
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon cloves (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 /4 cup hot water
Instructions
  1. Mix first six ingredients in a large bowl. Then dissolve baking soda in hot water and stir into the rest of the batter. Spread into and a greased 9 X 9 pan and bake at 425 for 20 - 25 minutes. Insert butter knife, if it comes out clean the cake is done.
