- 1½ cups sugars
- 3 tablespoons shortening
- 1 can tomato soup
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon cloves (optional)
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 /4 cup hot water
Instructions
- Mix first six ingredients in a large bowl. Then dissolve baking soda in hot water and stir into the rest of the batter. Spread into and a greased 9 X 9 pan and bake at 425 for 20 - 25 minutes. Insert butter knife, if it comes out clean the cake is done.
